The Port Townsend Golf Course was built in the early 1920s.

"The Port Townsend Golf Club facility includes a good-quality 9-hole golf course that is both beginner-friendly and challenging for better players. The layout is interesting and offers some golf design features not often present at 9-hole municipal golf courses, including tree-framed doglegged holes, severe elevation changes, and strategic bunkering. The golf course possesses some advantages over other regional golf courses, including good drainage that allows for play of golf even after rainy periods and good irrigation for dryer periods." - National Golf Foundation, March 2004.
